Radar Perimeter Protection

Radar_PTZ_Camera_Perimeter_Protection_Solution.jpg

The radar perimeter protection system utilizes radar technology to perceive dynamic and static changes in the surrounding area by emitting radio waves and receiving their reflected signals. These radar waves can penetrate various weather conditions and operate day and night without hindrance, functioning effectively in adverse weather or complex terrain. When individuals, vehicles, or other objects enter the monitoring area, the radar system promptly identifies them and notifies security personnel through an alarm system, enabling early warning and intervention.

The Challenge

  • High False Rate

The false alarm rate of infrared sensors and traditional visual detection systems is high for surrounding intrusion events. Small animals, leaves, and flags often trigger false alarms, with a certain rate of missing alarms.

  • Undocumented

The physical fence with fence sensor can provide precise alarm. Nevertheless, it cannot record visual information of the intrusion event.

  • Weather and Environment Influence

The traditional perimeter protection monitoring system is easily affected by weather and environment condition. Rain, snow, fog and extremely dark environment affect detection accuracy.

  • Insufficient Global Information

The traditional perimeter protection monitoring system focuses on single-point monitoring, lacking global trajectory tracking within the monitoring range.

The Core Principle of Radar Perimeter Protection

The radar perimeter protection system utilizes radar technology to perceive dynamic and static changes in the surrounding area by emitting radio waves and receiving their reflected signals. These radar waves can penetrate various weather conditions and operate day and night without hindrance, functioning effectively in adverse weather or complex terrain. When individuals, vehicles, or other objects enter the monitoring area, the radar system promptly identifies them and notifies security personnel through an alarm system, enabling early warning and intervention.

Advantages of Radar Perimeter Protection

  • Seamless Coverage: The radar perimeter protection system can cover extensive areas, whether they are flatlands, mountainous regions, forests, or water bodies, ensuring seamless monitoring.

  • High Precision: By analyzing reflected signals, the radar system can determine the position, speed, and direction of objects, achieving high-precision target monitoring.

  • All-Weather Operation: Unaffected by weather conditions, radar technology can monitor continuously day and night, ensuring round-the-clock security protection.

  • Reduced False Alarms: Offering mobile trajectory display and real-time monitoring with PTZ cameras;  supporting human/vehicle target filtering, accurately distinguishing between people, vehicles, and animals, reducing false alarm rates.

  • Instant Alerts: In the event of anomalies, the system can trigger immediate alerts, notifying security personnel through sound, light, messages, etc., enabling them to respond promptly.

  • Smart Front-end Control: Supports linkage of multiple Sunell PTZ cameras to one radar or multiple radars to one PTZ camera; Provides graded alarm set.

  • Centralized Management: Configuration and management of the radar-PTZ smart tracking system on the SunView platform.

Radar Only System

Radar Only System

When radar is used alone, as a detector, the intrusion trajectory of the object will be displayed in the detection area.   If the corresponding functional area (defense area, alarm area, shield area) is set up on the web or platform, the corresponding function will be realized.   For different application scenarios, necessary peripheral equipment – horn or illuminator – will be added.   It can also display special functions such as sound and light alarm.

Multi-Radar with One-PTZ

Multi-Radar with One-PTZ

The detection range of a single radar is 90-degree or 120-degree.  Three or four radars are integrated into a 360 degree detection, and a 360 degree regional protection solution is composed of three radars and one PTZ camera, which realizes efficient regional protection function for some specific scenarios.

Radar with Multi-PTZ

The “one radar with multiple PTZ" solution consists of multiple PTZ cameras that can be utilized simultaneously in the monitored area of the radar in order to carry out linkage tasks and realize specific business functions.  The radar distributes the control of the PTZ cameras according to the different time and distance of the target entering the monitored area, realizing the PTZ cameras’ tracking and detail capturing capabilities, as well as its special functions such as intelligent alarm.  This solution is very suitable for regional security protection, aiming at key areas such as high-risk areas, highly valuable areas and private territories.
